WHAT IS E-Fit?

E-Fit is a new personal training programme launched in the UK in 2014. The training uses EMS (Electric Muscle Stimulation) technology combined with skilled personal training, providing an accelerated fitness solution available to all ages and fitness levels.

ENDURANCE
E-Fit technology targets muscles that are difficult to develop with traditional workouts. Your performance and endurance will be significantly improved when using E-Fit in combination with conventional training.
ANTI CELLULITE
Cellulite is caused by the weakening of connective tissues. These tissues can be stimulated with lower impulse intensity, which increases blood circulation and stimulates the removal of excreta from problematic areas. The presence of cellulite can be significantly reduced with the use of E-Fit.
BODY BUILDING
With this E-Fit training program you can gain your desired muscle weight and maintain it without suffering through long gym sessions or heavy weight lifting. Using E-Fit instead of traditional weight lifting reduces the impact on your joints preventing pain and body damage caused by heavy weight workouts. These sessions also allow you to focus your training on specific muscle groups.
POSTURE IMPROVEMENT
One of the key benefits of E-Fit is its ability to reach deeper muscles. Exercising deeper muscles is often difficult, yet these muscles are responsible for supporting our posture. E-Fit technology helps improve posture and helps relieve back pain.
BODY SHAPING
This programme generates stimulations, your muscles respond to this by contracting and relaxing. The resulting contractions work the body’s muscles helping tone and shape your figure. These impulses are normally sent by your brain to the muscles, however with E-Fit the muscles work to the stimulus of the device. Body shaping is full body training, stimulating up to 350 of your muscles. No other fitness training is so effective in 25 minutes.
FAT BURNING
The fat burning programme targets the problematic parts of the body. It activates the muscles increasing their oxygen consumption promoting fat burning. It also speeds up the lymphatic system helping eliminate fat. This process also works for cellulite reduction.
FITNESS
If you do not exercise regularly, are overweight or noticing the effects of ageing on your body then the fitness program has the answer. Progressively intensive stimulation creates a muscle awareness helping you improve muscle tone. This workout programme will result in improved muscle and body shape whilst increasing fitness.
POSTPARTUM RECOVERY

HOW IT WORKS?

EMS TECHNOLOGY

The history of the electric-muscle-stimulation stretches back to a 1791 experiment by Luigi Galvani, a pioneer in bio-electricity, and since then the technology has continually developed. EMS technology has been used by NASA since the 1970s to train their astronauts in zero gravity environments. The benefits of whole body stimulation helped keep them fit in space where conventional exercise proved ineffective due to the lack of gravity. For the past 30 years EMS technology has been used for rehabilitation and physiotherapy. EMS is now recognised throughout the world and its benefits have been used extensively, especially in the US. In the last decade the use of EMS technology by professional athletes has been gradually growing and it is now the latest fitness trend for the general public.

EMS technology stimulates the muscles with impulses causing them to contract and relax in the same way as conventional exercise. When used while training EMS activates up to 90% of your body’s main muscles achieving highly effective results. The technology behind E-Fit personal training represents a time-saving, hyper effective workout resulting in all-round positive health and fitness.

AN E-Fit SESSION

E-Fit is personal training, enhanced. The first part of your trial session will be a brief to focus on your key fitness aims and goals. Your trainer will use this to tailor a bespoke E-Fit workout around you. Before your initial discussion you will have changed into the E-Fit undergarments provided. These garments provide an under layer over which the E-Fit shorts and vest will be placed. After your talk the trainer will fit you into the E-Fit gear and you will be ready for the session.

From here the workout will last 25 minutes. The exercises, techniques and equipment used will vary from person to person depending on the workout and device settings your personal trainer has planned for you. During the session your trainer will use the E-Fit device to actively stimulate your muscles, gradually adjusting the output to a level where you feel comfortable.

E-Fit can be used on its own for people who would like an effective training method and don’t have time or don’t need any additional exercise.
E-Fit is also perfect for complementing other sports. E-Fit improves fitness levels and leads to better performance in other sports. You can ask your PT to target specific muscle areas, for example your arms and back if you are a key tennis player.
E-Fit helps reach deeper fibres in the muscle that are not easily reached through conventional exercise, developing muscles in a targeted manner. So E-Fit can be used on its own or as a compliment to any sporting and fitness goals.

To see results it is best to be regular, with whichever number of sessions per week you do.
You will be able to notice the difference with one 25 minute session per week. With E-Fit twice per week, 2×25 minutes, your results will be visible sooner and you will be fitter and healthier.
We generally recommend one or two sessions per week depending on your objectives and your activity levels in your ordinary life.

After an E-Fit session you should have a powerful sense of wellbeing. You should feel all the positive effects of having done a great active workout.
Your body is activated during the E-Fit session and its effects last for a couple of days, during which your calorie burning will be higher than usual. You may experience some muscle soreness as with other sports, especially after the first session.

Yes. Drink at least half a litre of water 30 to 40 minutes before the workout to keep your body sufficiently hydrated. Of course sufficient fluid intake (2 to 3 litres per day) is an essential part of a proper dietary regime. As with other sports, it is always an advantage to have a carbohydrate intake 2-3 hours before the training.
After the workout a protein supplement may be recommend to help your body recover from the sports that you have done, especially if it has been an intense workout.

Your trainer will bring everything that is needed for your workout. We will be providing you with cotton undergarments (t-shirt and trousers).

You feel a vibration on your muscles. If you have never tried it before it is an amazing new sensation. You should quickly get used to it which may take a couple of minutes. Some people ask if it hurts, it does not. The Personal Trainer will gradually increase the number of pulses for each muscle group to a level that you are comfortable with. It is important you give feedback to your PT, so the device is best adjusted to you.

The E-Fit device operates with low voltage. With the power running through the device, there is the possibility of muscle cramp, no different than cramping during other sporting or fitness activities. No other harm can be expected.
The E-Fit device is completely safe: it has 3 circuit breakers to protect the user from a fault in the device. As a precaution, the latter can cut the power in the device in case any malfunctioning is detected. Circuit breakers are activated sequentially, in case of malfunctioning one would activate, if it did not, then the next would start working and for a very rare case that none of the first two worked, then the third would.
The E-Fit device complies with the EU directive for medical devices.
